Managing Veterinarian - High-Autonomy Leadership Opportunity

Eastview Veterinary Clinic is a well-established (since 1973), high-volume, walk-in based practice near Nashville, TN, seeking a confident, experienced Managing Veterinarian ready to step into leadership while continuing to practice hands-on medicine in our walk-in / urgent care / GP hybrid model.

Overview

The Managing Veterinarian partners with the Hospital Manager to drive the financial performance and general operations of the hospital, and to cultivate a supportive, collaborative team environment. You'll be supported and mentored by the Divisional Leadership Team through practice management training, reporting, and ongoing resources to lead a best-in-class clinic. The Managing Doctor will be responsible for:

• Advancing Medical Care through establishing protocols, oversight, and quality of care.
• Leading Staff and Practice by providing mentorship and support.
• Financial Responsibilities to aid in the success of the practice.
• Growing the Practice through innovative change and services as well as community involvement.

• Leadership with support, not isolation - you set the medical direction, backed by a Hospital Manager and Divisional Leadership Team who handle the logistics
• You shape the team's day - instead of an overbooked schedule stacked against you, you help design how the practice runs

A Team Built to Support Your Leadership

We're intentionally structured so a Managing Veterinarian can focus on medicine and mentorship, not logistics:

• Hospital Manager who partners with you on day-to-day operations
• Associate DVMs who you'll mentor and collaborate with in a low-ego, case-discussion culture
• Dedicated Veterinary Assistant assigned to each DVM
• LVT who independently leads dental procedures
• 3-4 CSRs supporting steady client flow and communication
• Inventory Manager ensuring supplies are always on hand
• Hospital Attendant keeping daily operations efficient

This is a team-driven operation, not a "figure it out yourself" clinic.

Skills and Basic Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Tennessee (prior to starting at the site).
• Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
• A desire to progress veterinary medicine based on industry-accepted research, medical protocol and equipment advancement, and evolving methodologies and treatments.
• A passion for continuous learning.
• Partners with the Hospital Manager on the medical and financial management of the practice, ensuring best-in-class patient and client experiences while maximizing efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Delegates tasks and achieves results with hospital team members.
• Makes decisions confidently and effectively.
• Leads employees by coaching, correcting, developing, and motivating them to achieve success.
• Manages time and tasks appropriately.
• Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.
• ER, urgent care, or high-volume GP experience a plus.

Who We're Looking For

• Experienced DVM (or equivalent) licensed, or license-eligible, in Tennessee, ready to step into a leadership role
• Confident, efficient, and motivated in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Comfortable with urgent care-style walk-in medicine
• A leader who values both autonomy and collaboration
• ER, urgent care, or high-volume GP experience a plus
