Veterinary Nurse – Certificate IV (Full-Time)

Ripponlea Veterinary Hospital is an ASAV-accredited Hospital of Excellence located, just down the road from the Ripponlea Estate. The practice employs three full-time veterinarians, two part-time veterinarians and eight support staff, providing comprehensive small animal medical and surgical services.
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the full-time position of Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV qualified).
Position Duties
The Veterinary Nurse will be responsible for:
Providing nursing care to hospitalised medical and surgical patients
Surgical nursing, including theatre preparation and anaesthetic monitoring
Assisting veterinarians during consultations and procedures
Consulting nursing and client education
Reception duties and customer service
Administrative tasks and maintenance of accurate clinical records
Maintaining hospital cleanliness and infection control standards
Employment Details
Full-time position (38 hours per week)
Location: 82 Glen Eira Road, Ripponlea
Salary: Above award and commensurate with skills and experience, consistent with current market rates
Requirements
Essential Selection Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (ACM40418 or equivalent qualification)
Minimum of 2–3 years’ recent experience in a veterinary clinical setting
Demonstrated competency in anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively within a small team environment
Commitment to high standards of patient care and client service
