Compensation: Hourly pay starting at $17-$25/hour, negotiable based on credentials and experience. The final rate will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Thrive Pet Healthcare - The Heights is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, patient-focused team. We proudly serve cats and dogs in the Houston Heights area, providing wellness care, vaccines, spay & neuter services, and end-of-life care-and we’re committed to being a trusted family vet for our community

What You’ll Do
As a Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care by:
- Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Supporting anesthesia, surgical assisting, and post-operative care
- Preparing patients and surgical instruments for procedures
- Monitoring anesthetic patients (ASA I-III; ASA IV-V experience preferred)
- Collecting laboratory samples and performing in-house diagnostics
- Operating digital radiography and advanced diagnostic equipment
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Accurately documenting patient histories and medical records
- Maintaining clean, organized, and sterile treatment, exam, and lab areas
- Using safe restraint techniques to ensure patient and team safety
- Supporting and mentoring fellow team members
What We’re Looking For
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
- CVT/LVT/RVT credentials encouraged
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assisting
- Strong attention to detail and clinical observation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-quality general practice setting
