Our veterinary hospital is seeking a Full-Time Overnight Veterinary Technician (Emergency & Critical Care) to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are the only fully staffed 24/7 ER within 100 miles in the Florida Keys, supported by a dedicated team of over 30 employees, including experienced doctors, technicians, and support staff. As a privately owned facility with a family atmosphere, we pride ourselves on providing both exceptional care and strong support for our staff.
As a Full-Time Overnight Veterinary Technician, you'll play a vital role in providing expert care for animals during the evening and weekend hours. Your responsibilities will focus on providing skilled support in emergency medicine cases during overnight shifts, including patient monitoring, triage, and treatment assistance. You will also ensure continuity of care for hospitalized patients and support the transition of cases to the daytime team. Your dedication and expertise will contribute significantly to the well-being of our patients and the satisfaction of their owners.
Responsibilities:
Triage of emergency cases
Perform diagnostics, including X-rays, in-house IDEXX laboratory testing, and other diagnostic procedures.
IV catheter placement, blood draws, and fluid therapy
Assist in surgical procedures and post-operative care.
Monitor and care for patients during hospitalization, including administering medications and carrying out treatment plans.
Provide compassionate support and clear communication to pet owners.
Requirements
Requirements:
Experience as a Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT preferred) or Technician Assistant with proven emergency medicine background.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Proficiency in emergency veterinary procedures and protocols.
Familiarity with general medicine practices and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Calm and composed under pressure with a passion for delivering top-notch care.
